Why do we want Intel Mobile CPUs now? AMD Showcases Staging of Its Latest Ryzen 4000 APUs

So far, only energy-efficient models.

AMD today reintroduced the Ryzen 4000 mobile processors. It is today that they finally enter the market as part of laptops, although, apparently, so far this applies only to high-performance models. Recall that there are now six, and five energy-efficient ones.

And now we have official data of AMD itself regarding the performance of new products in comparison with competitors. In this case, the diagrams show indicators of just the energy-efficient top-end APUs Ryzen 7 4800U and Ryzen 7 4700U. Recall that both have eight cores, SMT supports only the older model, the frequencies of the Ryzen 7 4800U are 1.8-4.2 GHz, the Ryzen 7 4700U is 2.0-4.1 GHz. In the earlier model, Vega 8 acts as the GPU, in the younger – Vega 7.

As you can see, in the tests, the novelties are in the lead, ahead of any energy-efficient Intel CPUs. Yes, the Core i7-10710U is not far behind Ryzen 7 4700U in CPU performance, and the Core i7-1065G7 in GPU performance. We do not know the prices for new AMD products, so it’s difficult to talk about the confrontation in this context, but soon everything will become clear at the cost of laptops.

As for games, there are mainly projects that are undemanding for performance, but still, in most cases, AMD processors are far ahead. And GTA V demonstrates well how new items behave in more demanding games.
